For the month of April, I will be trying out Kontera In-Text advertising. Since their ads are somewhat unusual by being placed within the text of each post, I want to see if there are any notable differences in CTR and total earnings, between In-Text advertising and conventional banners.

The links will not be placed here, on SlickHog, but on one of my other sites receiving over 100,000 unique visitors per month.

The results will be available here at the beginning of May.

Why am I doing this?

I personally don’t like In-text ads, I find them distracting, almost as much as pop-ups do. But I want to find out if the possibility of earning extra revenue is worth annoying some of my visitors. Potentially even losing some. From my own experience, I know that I tend to avoid sites with In-text ads, but it’s likely only a matter of personal preference.
